This work is an attempt to explore the ethical relationship of the Chinese family. The artist collected hair from himself and his family and made a screen.
In ancient China, the screen was firstly a symbol of power and status.Secondly, it served as a barrier. Hair as a human tissue contains molecules of genetic information. Environmental factors and lifestyle (diet, stress, personal habits and drug use) and can affect the health and appearance of hair. Hair characteristics are the result of the interaction between genetic and environmental factors.
This work attempts to explore the complexity of affinity between relatives in traditional Chinese ethical relationships. The ethical relationship is based on the interaction between two individuals bound by blood.
